Camille Lepage Prize 2025 – Matilde Gattoni receives the Camille Lepage Award at the Visa pour l’Image festival

On Thursday evening in Perpignan, Matilde Gattoni received the 2025 Camille Lepage Award from Adrien Lepage and SAIF President Pierre Ciot at the Visa pour l’Image photojournalism festival. Thanks to the €8,000 grant from SAIF, Matilde will be able to continue her work on the consequences of global warming and overfishing on the shores of Lake Victoria. “I am extremely grateful to have received the Camille Lepage Prize. I can’t wait to get back to work and take on the great responsibility that this prize gives me,” Matilde told us when we interviewed her the day after the ceremony.
After the screening of the documentary “Grandir, trop vite, à Kharkiv” (Growing up too fast in Kharkiv) by Virginie Nguyen Hoang, winner of the 2024 Award, thursday evening also featured a tribute to Maryvonne Lepage, who has perpetuated her daughter Camille’s work during 11 years while supporting the work of many photojournalists.
